He is Risen with Healing in His Wings

Short and simple thoughts from me today because truly, there is nothing I could say more eloquently or more powerfully than what Elder Kearon shared in this address.

If abuse of any kind is a part of your story, please know there are far more on your side than there are against you, fighting for your cause, your healing, your wholeness, and your peace. You have armies of angels—on both sides of the veil—committed to helping you transform your story from one of survival to one of redemption. You are not alone in the battle, and you are stronger and more capable of becoming conquerer than you might ever believe possible. The good news...

"Jesus specializes in the seemingly impossible."

We may not all be personally affected by this kind of pain or heartache, but I imagine each of us is facing something that feels seemingly impossible.

As I read that line, mine came to mind immediately, and likely yours did too as those giants can be hard to ignore—let alone face.

And so I started to pray, right there in that moment, for my impossible thing to somehow appear possible.

First thing I felt? Silly.

I thought, gosh Rio, that's your impossible thing? There are mothers praying for their children to survive another day, fathers praying for the basic needs of their family to be met—and this is what you're praying for?

While it is true, and there are survival stories all around us, another person's battle—large or small—does not diminish or minimize the fight before you. The Lord does not, and will never compare your hardship against another. He only cares that you know understand it was never meant to be a battle fought by one—by you, alone.

"With courage, patience, and faithful focus on Him, before too long you can come to fully accept this gift. You can let go of your pain and leave it at His feet. . . He came here to make the irredeemable redeemable, to heal the unhealable, to right the unrightable, to promise the unpromisable. And He’s really good at it."

So let Him onto your battlefield, and pray for your impossible.

AFFIRMATION

I am not fighting this battle alone. Healing is possible because the Lord is on my side. With Him, I have what it takes to transform from survivor to conqueror in my story.
