Ministering to Their Namesake
By Annalee Wood
When my son George was just a few weeks old, we discovered that he had some serious health problems that required two invasive surgeries. Before, during, and after the days of surgery and hospitalization, George received many priesthood blessings and was blessed that “angels would attend him” and “his ancestors would surround him and protect him.” Through the power of the priesthood, George underwent his surgeries, and healed quickly with miraculous strength. George is named after many previously deceased ancestors named “George.” This painting depicts George held by his father in the hospital and the other Georges that watched over him. Although we could not see them, as illustrated by the transparent nature of the angel figures, we felt their presence. I know that God sends our own personal angels to watch over us in our lives, and these angels are our very own loved ones from beyond the veil.
