Behold! I am a god of miracles

Behold! I am a god of miracles
Read the address by elder rasband

Hello my friends,

Something in my heart wanted to write to you in more of a letter form this week, I hope that's okay! I've been placing an unhealthy amount of pressure on myself lately to show up here with the most eloquent thoughts and groundbreaking insights. With every conference talk each week, I felt as though my task was to take the words of the leaders and rewrite them in a new, even better, way! Why I have placed that unrealistic expectation on myself, I have no idea. But it wasn't sustainable, nor was it what I set out to do in the first place.

This is why you're seeing this email come through today, because I knew I couldn't show up to another week with that mindset. So I offered myself a little patience and felt like a letter from me to you was a good place to start.

So a quick thought on miracles. You're in good company if you've been praying for heaven's help lately—me too. And praying for specific miracles can be a vulnerable place because it leaves room for disappointment and frustration when the response doesn't meet our expectation. But God responding at ALL is the miracle. The reality that an all-powerful, all-knowing being hears our desperate pleas into the heavens is miraculous, friends.

Sometimes we just don't notice it that way because we're so focused on what we dreamed up the miracle to be, that when He shows up with something different we don't trust it to be the miracle we actually needed. But as Elder Rasband said, “He will be there, and He will be right.” In other words, He. Knows. Us. Best. Always has. Always will. So pray for the miracle, even expect it, put all the faith and hope you have at His feet, then TRUST. Trust that He will “suit the miracle to the moment you need it.”

Wishing you a beautiful weekend, my friend. Thank you so much for your patience and kindness as I show up here, sometime inconsistently. But I am making a promise to keep showing up, because He promised that when I do—when we choose to show up, He is right there to make up the difference, fill in the gaps, and turn our effort into enough.

xo,

Rio

Quotes

"Miracles are divine acts, manifestations and expressions of God’s limitless power, and an affirmation that He is “the same yesterday, today, and forever."

"Miracles can come as answers to prayer. They are not always what we ask for or what we expect, but when we trust in the Lord, He will be there, and He will be right. He will suit the miracle to the moment we need it."

Affirmation

I look for God's hand in my daily life and notice the miracles both small and mighty—each one a lifeline back to heaven.
